Orginally known as the Gulf of California, The Sea of Cortez harnesses many wonders in and around its bays, reefs, islands, seamounts, and shipwrecks making for great scuba diving in La Paz.
La Paz is nestled in the southern part of the Baja California peninsula, largely protected from the extremes of the open ocean by the crescent shape of the land that wraps around it.
